Lead Data Engineer (Warehousing) for Retail Services & Systems, Inc. dba Total Wine & More to work at our Bethesda, MD HQ. Partner w/ Data Services leadership team to develop vision for Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform. Partner w/ Data Services prod owners, data warehouse engineers, data scientists, + BI developers to support + deliver reports, predictive models, datasets, + solutions. Design + improve data workflows to improve efficiency + reduce costs, + dev new features to support business req'ts. Design + build data quality testing processes + monitoring to ensure data access. Assist w/ implementation of data arch + data governance standards + best practices. Create + manage batch + real time data pipelines, including managing + enhancing Kafka + Kubernetes implementations. Guide optimization + advancement of platforms. Coach Jr. team members + share knowledge w/ broader team. Implement security practices to handle sensitive info. $210,600/yr plus comprehensive benefits (including healthcare plans, PTO, 401k, etc.). May undergo background checks incl drug screening. Must have Master’s in Comp Sci, tech, or related field and 5 yrs relevant alcohol beverage industry exp in data engineering, data warehousing, data architecture, and data modeling. Also reqs skills (5 yrs exp) in: GCP environment – BigQuery, Airflow/Cloud Composer, Cloud functions, data loss prevention (DLP), PubSub, and Kubernetes (GKE); SQL and DBMSs; Python; dbt and Kafka data ingestion and transformation tools; data modeling solutions using cloud-native tools; data and analytics platforms – Dev-ops, Docker, CI/CD including GitHub, Cloud Build, Jenkins; Power BI.
