Principal POS Engineer

for Retail Services & Systems, Inc. d/b/a Total Wine & More to report to our Bethesda, MD loc. but may telecommute. Resp for key initiatives related to POS environment (POS + related apps) + Payment + Fraud Prev Sys. Participate in design + arch decisions of POS Sys, enhancements/ projects, + integrations. Build dashboards + monitoring tools for health + performance of POS sys. Analyze processes + ID opps for improvement + automation. Lead troubleshooting + root cause analysis; prevent service interruption. Engage IT teams + 3rd-party vendors during service interruption issues + lead efforts to resolve. Exempt compensation range is $176,000–185,000/yr plus comprehensive benefits. May undergo background checks incl drug screening. Little nat’l travel (less than 5 days/trip and 60 days/yr) to our Bethesda, MD or Boca Raton, FL offices for occasional training may be required. Must have Bach in Comp Sci, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Mathematics, or rel field and 10 yrs rel exp implementing and supporting POS and store systems or Master’s in Comp Sci, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Mathematics, or rel field and 6 yrs rel exp implementing and supporting POS and store systems. Also reqs skills (6 yrs exp) in: POS ecosystem (Hardware & Software Stack, Development, Testing, and Support); Micros Retail / Oracle apps (xStore, xUnit, xEnvironment, and xCenter); PCI and PII data, including payment processing environments; POS and related integrations architectures and designs; relational database, SQL, and scripting languages (Windows PowerShell); installation, configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise-wide systems; 3rd-party integrated software tools (Jira, MS Teams, Splunk).
